But lately (as in for the last year or so) every few weeks or so, usually late at night, I tend to get pain in my chest.

Kinda like a squeezing kinda pain. Like a choked on something that didn't go down (Even if I hadn't ate anything recently!).

Mom says it's just heartburn, but I'm young (17) and impressionable and worried that heart problems run in the family.
